Megan it runs in the family. my grandmother assembled motherboards for IBM, my mother worked in cybersecurity while my uncle was a tinkerer/hacker, though I surpassed him long ago...

so I've always had computers, and my mother got me my first one.

Megan astronomy, astrobiology, sewing, tinkering with/modding/repairing stuff, botany, and writing fan fiction are the major ones. I used to also sing karaoke weekly before the pandemic hit but that's not looking like it'll be back anytime soon.

I'm also a huge science fiction and cyberpunk fan and enjoy anything with a good story that draws me in.

Megan mostly scifi and cyberpunk stuff. I once wrote a post Daria fanfic where Jane had gotten involved in making a cyberspace interface to further her creative outlets. I'd like to go back and rewrite it though.

Megan the mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson, I robot by Issac Asimov, childhoods end, the moon is a harsh mistress, and songs of distant earth by Robert Heinlein, war of the world's by h.g. wells, 20,000 leagues under the sea as well as the island of doctor morrow by Jules Vern. Those are some of my most favorites.

I also enjoyed both the movie and book versions of starship troopers, again Heinlein, and I've read a lot of the expanded universe stuff for both star trek and star wars.

Megan I've honestly not heard of that author. Maybe? I've read a lot of books over the years, though as far as fantasy goes, discworld and dragons of pern are really good. And I enjoyed the hobbit more than the Lord of the rings. My most favorite fantasy though is the stories about king Arthur and the nights of the round table., Especially ones focusing on Merlin, moreso now than when I first read them as I can relate to him more.

Ah wasn't sure. Seemed like something you might have. XD And I agree with liking "The Hobbit" more then "The Lord of the Rings."

Do you collect anything?
