The Faber-Castell stuff is pretty good. I have some of stuff from them myself. I think drawing pencils.
Do you use any special pencils to draw your maps?

Not really, to be honest. I do have some harder pencils somewhere (2H/3H/4H), which don't smudge as much, but they're a bit faint.
