Why do people still think Digimon is a rip-off of Pokémon when dragons and turkeys have far more similarities?

Honestly, it's probably nothing more than that they're both animes with similar-sounding names, school-age kids, and weird creatures.
(I agree that that's pretty much where the similarities end
)
